Antoinette Elefante Porto, 85, of Branford, beloved wife of 56 years to Michael A. Porto, passed away on Jan. 13 in Connecticut Hospice.

She was the loving mother of Andrew M. (Lorena) Porto of Woodbridge and Michelle A. (David) Fortuna, Sr., of Clinton. She was the grandmother of Michael Porto and Andrew and David Fortuna, Jr; and the sister of the late Sue Santarcangelo, Rose Gallicchio, Jeannette Corniello, and James Elefante. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Antoinette was born in New Haven on June 12, 1933, daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Longobardi Elefante. Prior to her retirement Antoinette was an office manager for the New Haven Railroad and Elmor Filter Corporation.

Her funeral procession left the Porto Funeral Home, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven, Jan. 17. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish in Our Lady of Pompeii Church. Interment followed in All Saints Cemetery. Friends called Jan. 17. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
