Helen A. Drew, wife of Edward J. Drew of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away Jan. 1. Always known for her keen sense of humor, legendary dinner parties, and positive outlook on life, she was born in Bridgeport, a daughter of the late Anthony M. and Veronica Josaitis Wallace.

She lived in New Haven and Hamden for many years before moving to Cambridge Village, Wilmington, in 2015.

She was the loving mother of Catherine (Peter) Cammarano of Guilford; Edward (Patricia) Drew of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina; Nora (Paul) Landry of Leland, North Carolina; Christine (Michael) O’Brien of Versailles, Kentucky, and the late Maureen (Arnie) Ganem, formerly of Bay Harbor Islands, Florida. She was the grandmother of Cheryl Cammarano, Edward J. Drew III, Thomas Drew, William Drew, Paul Landry, Jr., Nicole Landry-Sloan, Michael O’Brien, and Taryn O’Brien-Beers. She was the great-grandmother of Reagan Drew, Logan Drew, Grayce Drew, Jackson Drew, Tyler Drew, Ryan Drew, Owen Sloan, Bennett O’Brien, Ellis O’Brien, and Liam Beers. Helen is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Matto, and was predeceased by a brother, Edward Wallace.

Family and friends were invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial in St. Mark Church, 1011 Eastwood Rd., Wilmington, North Carolina, on Jan. 10. A graveside service, open to family and friends, was held in St. Mary Cemetery, Whitney Avenue, Hamden, on Jan. 12.
