Madison

Donald L. Gesick, 87, husband of Theresa M. Gesick since 1956, of Madison, passed away on Jan. 3 at Middlesex Hospital after a long illness. Don was born on Nov. 24, 1931, to the late George Gesick and Grace Dahlberg.

He attended and graduated from Hand High School and was a devoted member of the Madison American Legion, Post 79. He married Theresa M. Kollmer and they made their home in Killingworth. He was a devoted husband and father who cherished time spent with family. In addition to raising their children, he maintained his career as a plant manager at Clinton Nurseries after serving his country in the Korean and Vietnam Wars as a member of the Air Force.

He is survived by his loving wife Theresa Gesick of Madison. He is also survived by his three sons and daughter, Donald Gesick (Margaret) of Clinton; David (Lisa) of Killingworth; Douglas (Tracy) Gesick, of Westbrook; and Denise (Eric) vonStetten of Stow, Massachusetts. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren Allie and Amanda, Sarah, Cameron, Haley, Reece, and Kayla, Timothy, Benjamin, and Lauren, and his great granddaughter, Aubrey Jane.

Calling hours were held on Jan. 6 at Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton. A Mass of Christian burial was held on Jan. 7 at St. Mary’s Church, 54 Grove St., Clinton, followed by burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Killingworth. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Donald’s name to The MS Society at NationalMSSociety.org.
