Madison, Guilford

Edward J. Healey, 81, longtime resident of Madison and Guilford, passed away peacefully Jan. 6 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford. He was the husband of Annemarie (Riccitelli) Jenkins Healey and the late Barbara (Barnes) Healey. Mr. Healey was born in New Haven on Sept. 9, 1937, son of the late Edward H. Healey and Mary (Vincelette) Healey.

He was the father of Thomas (Karen) Healey of Madison and Ann (Derek) Healey-Register of Garner, North Carolina. He was the grandfather of Brendan Healey of Madison, Chelsea Healey of Norwood, Massachusetts, and Erin Healey of San Diego, California. He was the brother of Mary Ann Gardiner of Florida.

In 2002 Mr. Healey retired from Bayer Pharmaceuticals as engineering manager after 31 years. In his free time he enjoyed golfing, traveling, and fixing just about anything around the house or that his children or grandchildren needed fixed. He was also an active member of the Senior Board of Retirees of Bayer.

Friends are invited to calling hours on Jan. 10 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. George Church, 33 Whitfield St., Guilford, on Jan. 11 at 10:30 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow Mass in West Cemetery, 72 Jannas Ln., Madison.
