Stony Creek

On Dec. 30 at the age of 78, Nancy Robinson Collins passed away peacefully at her home in Stony Creek with her family by her side. Born May 20, 1940, she was a lifelong resident of Branford, beloved wife of the late Warren “Bo” Collins, and daughter of the late Edwin and Edwina Robinson of Branford.

Nancy leaves four children, Warren (Kristen) Collins of Branford, Gail (Jim) Carey of Madison, Bethany (Robert) Irwin of State College, Pennsylvania, and Darren (Dena) Collins of Stony Creek; eight grandchildren, Lauryn and Kathryn Collins, Maggie and Connor Ball, Patrick and Kyla Irwin, and Austin and Brandon Collins; and four additional step-grandchildren in Pennsylvania, Kate (Bill) Weaver, Kristin, Rob, and Chris Irwin. She also leaves her brothers Richard (Rosalie) Robinson of Guilford and Paul (Donna) Robinson of Branford, and sister Betsey and Bill Bray of Branford.

Nancy devoted her life to her husband, had unconditional love for her children and family, and unwavering constant devotion to her grandchildren. A sixth-generation parishioner of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Branford, she dedicated 20 years with the altar guild, and the peach shortcake she contributed to the church fair was a sell-out year after year.

Nancy’s family received relatives and friends on Jan. 6 at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 N. Main St., Branford, CT 06405. Services were held Jan. 7 at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 1109 Main St., Branford, CT 06405.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Trinity Episcopal Church, 1109 Main St., Branford, CT 06405. The Collins family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Smilow Cancer Hospital, her homecare nurses from the V & A, and the Guilford Hospice nursing staff for the dedicated care they provided during this difficult time.
