North Haven

Rosemary D. Giannotti Saulino, 83, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Dec. 6 surrounded by her family at Yale-New Haven Hospital/St. Raphael campus. She was the beloved wife of 62 years to Gene Saulino. Rosemary was born in New Haven on Oct. 16, 1935, the daughter of the late John and Madeline Vanacore Giannotti.

She worked for many years as the regional secretary for The International Dairy Queen and also as a secretary for Sylvania Lighting. Rosemary enjoyed cooking, music, playing piano, and vacationing, especially in Cape Cod. She loved her family unconditionally and her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was the mother of Michele (Saulino) Hackett; grandmother of Jessica, Ashley (Daniel Dahlstrom), Brian, and Marrissa Hackett; and great-grandmother of Anthony Hackett and the late Logan Charpentier. She was the sister of Jean Giannotti Crisanti; the aunt of Jean-Ann Crisanti Moore and Peter J. Crisanti; and the sister-in-law of Michael Saulino and the late Ella (Saulino) Hanlon.

The visiting hours were Dec. 12 at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave. Her funeral procession left the funeral home Dec. 13 for a Mass of Christian burial celebrated in St. Barnabas Church. Interment followed in All Saints Cemetery.
