Rebecca A. Kwashie, 55, beloved wife of George K. Kwashie of East Haven, passed away Nov. 26 in Connecticut Hospice. Rebecca was born in Accre, Ghana, on March 25, 1963, a daughter of Richard Sasu and Anna Konney.

Prior to her death Rebecca was a registered nurse at the West Haven Veterans Medical Center and also worked at Clintonville Manor, Yale-New Haven Hospital, Gaylord Hospital, and Connecticut Hospice.

She was the loving mother of Bernice A. and Maxwell D. Kwashie; and the caring sister of Johnny Sasu of New York, Papa Joe Konney of Canada, and Ameley, Lizzy, Mansa, Mana, and Michael Sasu, all of Ghana.

Services were held in the Porto Funeral Home, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven, Dec. 8, with the Rev. Charles Okang officiating. Interment followed in East Lawn Cemetery. Friends called Dec. 8. For an online obituary or to sign Rebecca’s guest book, visit www.portofuneralhomes.net.
