12/11/2018 11:00 PMGeorgianne Fastaia passed away on Nov. 25 at the age of 54 in Fremont, California.
She spent her formative years in Vernon and graduated Rockville High School in 1982. She moved to San Francisco and graduated summa cum laude from SFSU and worked as a fine artist her entire adult life, exhibiting her work in many San Francisco venues.
She is survived by her daughter Sophia; her parents Jackie and Tony Fastaia of Westbrook; siblings Joseph Fastaia and wife Mia of Fairport, New York; and Leslie Kahl and husband Jon of Simsbury. She leaves behind nieces Ava, Anna, May, and Berit; two uncles; aunts; and many cousins.
A memorial service was held in San Francisco in her honor and another celebration of Georgianne’s life is planned this summer in Connecticut. She will be remembered for her fierce devotion to her loving daughter, Sophia, for her artistic talent, and for her spirited and uncompromising approach to life.
