North Haven

Margaret Thomas Campane, 93, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Dec. 3 at Whitney Manor with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis W. Campane. Margaret was born in New Haven on Feb. 4, 1925, daughter of the late Joseph and Margaret Porto Thomas.

She worked as a secretary for Connecticut Container Corporation for many years until her retirement. Margaret was a member of the Hamden-North Haven AMVETS Post #9 Ladies Auxiliary.

She was the proud mother of two daughters, Maria (Paul) Guidone of Cheshire and Margaret Campane (Craig Colten) of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She was the grandmother of Lisa (Ryan) Herrington of Trumbull; Christopher (Julie) Guidone of Fayetteville, New York; and Megan (John) Pasvankias of Darien. She was the great-grandmother of Anthony, Dominic, Caroline, Joseph, Sophia, and Emilia. She was predeceased by her siblings Mary Antonetti, Ann DePalma, JoAnn Moore, Michael Thomas, Joseph Thomas, and Paul Thomas. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her family meant the world to her. She enjoyed traveling, going on Sunday car rides with her husband, playing cards with her sisters, and swimming in her pool with her grandkids when they were younger. She was kind and caring and brought love and laughter to her family. She will be remembered for her bright smile, huge heart, and strong spirit. Her family loves her deeply and will miss her so very much. Her grandkids especially thank her and their grandfather for always being there for them and bringing so much joy to their lives. They will carry them in their hearts forever.

Family and friends may call on Dec. 7, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. in the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Saint Elizabeth of the Trinity Parish at Saint Barnabas Church, 44 Washington Ave., North Haven, at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
