Lee Allen, beloved wife of the late Bruce Allen, passed away peacefully on her birthday Dec. 1 with her loving family by her side.

She leaves behind her son Frederick (Amy) and grandchildren Matthew (fiancée Molly), Leslie, and Kathryn of Madison; daughter Martha Pepin and grandchildren Alicia (fiancé Eric) and Joshua of Newport, Vermont; son Peter of Zephyrhills, Florida; Bonnie Allen and grandchildren Chelsea (husband Matt) and Cally, and great-grandchild Collin of Newington; and daughter Beth (Keith) and grandchildren Stephen (fiancée Brittany) and Nicole of Clinton. Lee leaves behind lifelong friends Helen, Margaret, Gert, Peggy, and Joan.

Lee earned her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy from Boston University, Sargent College. Lee practiced PT for more than 40 years along the shoreline with the VNA, having attachments to Chesterfield Convalescent Home. She moved to Florida with her husband Bruce in 1997, where they spent 16 years together making special memories in the Dunnellon community. Lee spent her early years supporting her children in scouts and church activities, and engaged in a variety of Clinton community social groups. Throughout her lifetime Lee was an avid crafter, gardener, and loved to play mahjong. Lee was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was the kindest friend and a compassionate caregiver.

A celebration of life will be held Dec. 16 at the Clinton Congregational Church at 2 p.m. Lee will be laid to rest in Florida with her husband in Bushnell Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to VNA Community Healthcare & Hospice in Guilford.
