Guilford

Wanda Marie McGuigan, 79, of Guilford passed away peacefully on Dec. 2 at Yale-New Haven Hospital. Wanda was born in New Haven on March 5, 1939, daughter of the late John Holmes and Alma Briner Holmes.

Wanda spent her early life in Branford before relocating to Guilford where she would remain to raise her four children.

Wanda was a devoted and hard worker. She worked at Clinipad Corporation for a number of years before retiring happily. After retirement, Wanda enjoyed plenty of arts and crafts, many of which were given lovingly to family members and friends alike.

Wanda was known to all as a loving and motherly figure whose kindness was unmatched. She will forever be remembered for her compassion and generous spirit.

She is survived by her children Kelly Ann Driscoll of Clinton; Clifford John McGuigan of Westbrook; Dawn Elizabeth Stamp of Guilford; and William Francis McGuigan of New Jersey.

Wanda was the beloved and proud grandmother of eight children, as well as a countless number of people who regarded her as such. She touched an innumerable number of lives.

Friends are invited to a celebration of life on Dec. 8 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford. Burial will be held privately.
