Elizabeth “Liz” Nash died Oct. 9. She is survived by her husband James, her daughters Beth Nash of New York, New York, and Alison Nash of Essex, her sister Jean Arndt and her husband Don Arndt of Palo Alto, California, and her sister Nancy Walker and her husband Richard Walker of Palm Harbor, Florida.

Liz was a graduate of Presbyterian-St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Chicago.

Liz was a lifelong sailor, she started sailing as a child with her father and mother. She met Jim, her husband of 59 years, racing Lightnings on Lake Michigan. She continued to sail with Jim in all parts of the U.S., Canada, Caribbean, South America, and the Mediterranean.

Liz had a lifetime love of reading and playing games with family and friends. She was never without a good book.

Services were private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local library.

A celebration of Liz’s life will be held at the Essex Corinthian Yacht Club on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 2 to 4:30 p.m.
