Killingworth

Pamela “Penny” Catri McQueeney, 67, of Killingworth, beloved wife of George McQueeney, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 6 at Middlesex Hospital. Penny was born on April 26, 1951, in Rahway, New Jersey, and was the daughter of Palma DeRuosi Catri of Killingworth and of the late Wesley J. Catri.

Penny was a graduate of St. Leo University in Florida, class of ‘73, where she met her husband George. She was a sales associate for East River Energy Company in Guilford for more than 20 years. Penny enjoyed cooking and gardening, loved listening to music, and traveled extensively with her husband and family. She also loved to entertain and throw parties.

Besides her mother Palma and husband George of 45 years, she is survived by her two daughters, Taragh McQueeney and her partner William McDonald of Eureka, California, and Jennifer McQueeney of Killingworth; and a grandson, Eric McQueeney of Killingworth. She is also survived by four siblings, Wesley Catri of Florida, Robin Werner (Wes) of New York, Brian Catri (Anne Marie) of New Jersey, and Nancy Catri of New York; her faithful dog Bailey; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister-in-law Katie Catri.

Family and friends may call on Oct. 11 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Swan Funeral Home, 825 Boston Post Rd., Madison. The Funeral Service will be Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. at the Swan Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Killingworth. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Penny’s name may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
