Emily Kammerer, 87, of Wallingford passed away on Aug. 16 at the Midstate Medical Center. She was the wife of the late George D. Kammerer. She was born in New Haven on July 26, 1931, to the late John and Elizabeth Bell.

Many years ago she worked at Kresge’s on Chapel Street in New Haven.

She is survived by two sons, George D. (Margaret) Kammerer, Jr., of East Haven and David J. (Alexis) Kammerer of New Haven; two daughters, Jean (Jerry) Donovan of Meriden and Evelyn (David) VanDerMaelan of Wallingford; as well as 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Debra Brown and two sisters, Margaret Eimutis and Mary Hobart.

A graveside service was held on Aug. 21 at the East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven. There were no calling hours.
