Virginia Stanlake of Branford died Sept. 12 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Leo J. Stanlake. She was born July 25, 1940, in East Hartford, daughter of the late Bernard and Theresa Lindsay.

She worked as a supply clerk for the VAMC in Newington and West Haven.

Besides her husband she is survived by her daughter Theresa Rossomangno of Belmont, New Hampshire; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Anthony Rossomangno.

The funeral procession left Sept. 18 from the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 N. Main St., Branford, for a Mass of Christian burial in St. Mary Church. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, West Hartford. Visiting hours were Sept. 17. For an online memorial, see www.wsclancy.com.
