Chester

Nancy J. Clark, a lifelong resident of Chester and beloved wife of Dudley “Will” Clark for 50 years, passed away peacefully on Sept. 7 at her home. Nancy was the daughter of Harold and Kathleen Jones.

She was the director and teacher at Jack & Jill Nursery School in Chester for 32 years, a position she cherished. Nancy was a member of the United Church of Chester and the Chester Garden Club. She also served for 14 years as the assistant director of weekend child care at Gladeview Health Care in Old Saybrook, and worked many years at the Ceramica Shop in Chester Village.

Besides her husband Will, Nancy leaves her children, son Scott Clark and his wife Jill of Old Lyme, and daughter Brooke Parakilas and her husband Chris of Old Saybrook; and her four grandchildren, Tyler and Ryan Clark, and Zoe and Max Parakilas. She also leaves her brother Harold Jones and his wife Linda, her sister Pat Kosky of Chester, and her niece and several nephews. Nancy was predeceased by her parents, her grandson Alexander Clark, her in-laws Dudley and Ornella Clark, brother-in-law Dennis Kosky, and her nephew Michael Jones.

A Memorial service was held on Sept. 13 at The United Church of Chester, 29 W. Main St. in Chester. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Nancy’s name are encouraged to do so to The United Church of Chester or to the JDRF (Junior Diabetes Research Foundation).
