Mary G. Amarante, 94, of New Haven died on June 22 at Connecticut Hospice. She was the wife of the late Frank Amarante. She was born in New Haven on March 27, 1924, to the late Anthony and Madeline DeCapua Luciano.

She worked as a seamstress for Schwartz Manufacturing Company for many years. Mary adored her family. She loved cooking, crocheting, and reading.

She is survived by a son, Anthony F. (Joanne) Amarante of Guilford; a daughter, Lucy Prokop of New Haven; a son-in-law, John Prokop of Delray Beach, Florida; a sister, Ann (Anthony) Panico of New Haven; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a true angel and will remain in their hearts forever.

The funeral left the East Haven Memorial Longobardi–Brennan Funeral Home, 425 Main St., East Haven, 203-467-1708, June 26 for a funeral mass in St. Vincent de Paul Church.
