Killingworth

Charles Sargent Edwards, 48, otherwise known as Skip, of Killingworth, passed away peacefully on July 17. He was born on March 23, 1970, the son of Charles Edwards II and Betsy Lane Edwards.

Charles was the proud owner of Sargent Trucking. He was a gun and watch enthusiast, specifically loving Invicta watches. In his spare time he attended classic car shows, especially the summer Friday nights in North Branford, with his son CJ. He loved to work on cars, creating a vintage Jeep from nothing but a steel frame, and proudly showing off his ruby red 1986 GMC to all he came across.

Not only was he passionate about the projects he indulged in, but the people in his life that he cared for and loved, too. Charles is survived by his wife Debra; children Felicia Edwards, Amber, and CJ Edwards of Killingworth; and brother Jason Edwards of Guilford. He will be remembered and missed dearly by family, friends, and members of the trucking community, alike.

A Celebration of Life will be held July 29 from 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the New Haven Sportsmen’s Club in Guilford, CT to celebrate Charles’s tenacity, victories, and the overwhelming strength he possessed while enriching the lives of every single person whom his path crossed.
