Geraldine Carlson Jenkins, 86, of Madison, beloved wife of the late Arthur R. Jenkins, passed away unexpectedly on July 2. Born on Dec. 8, 1931, in New Britain, she was the daughter of Harold O.V. and Elsie Bengtson Carlson.

Gerry graduated with distinction from the University of Connecticut, where she met her husband. Geraldine worked as a bookkeeper at The Killingworth Country Store, which she and Art owned for many years. Gerry enjoyed gardening, reading, bird watching, playing piano, cross-stitch, board games, and watching her beloved Red Sox and Bruins. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her two children, Debra Huffman and her husband Edward of Ambler, Pennsylvania, and Tom Jenkins and his wife Deena Small of Scarborough, Maine; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Delaney Huffman of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Tyler Bracken Huffman of Long Beach, New York, Erin Barry and her husband Garret Gagnon of Biddeford, Maine, and Colin Barry and his wife Rebecca Fay of Norman, Oklahoma; and two great-grandchildren, Jane and Anna Barry. She is also survived by her brother Richard Carlson of New Hampshire and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her son Steven Richard Jenkins.
