Branford, Cheshire

David B. Lonergan, 69, of Cheshire, formerly of Branford, passed away on June 10 after a brief illness. David was born in New Haven on March 28, 1949, the beloved son of the late William F. and Zella H. Lonergan.

He graduated from Branford High School and attended Quinnipiac College. He was a regular donor for the American Red Cross as were his parents. Prior to his retirement, he worked for the former Textron, Donahue Sales Talon Division in Milford and Gravy Master. David had a quick wit and was well liked. He enjoyed going to Nighthawk hockey games with his brother and friends, and walking around the Branford area that he loved.

David is survived by his brother William T. Lonergan (Patricia) of Branford. He is also survived by two nieces, Debra (J. Richard) Conte, and Carolyn Thompson and their families. Besides his parents and grandparents, he was predeceased by his sisters Barbara Jean and Judith Ann Lonergan.

His family and friends will have a private service and celebration of his life at the family cemetery in Thompson. A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
