Edward A. Valente, 67, of East Haven passed away June 16 in Connecticut Hospice. He was the beloved father of Christopher M. Valente of East Haven and Edward (Kristen) Valente of Wallingford. He was the cherished grandfather of Gino and Adriana Valente; the loving son of Isabella Monaco Valente of New Haven and the late Armando Valente; and the caring brother of Mary and Isabella Valente both of New Haven, Michael Valente of Hamden, and the late Grace Valente.

Prior to his retirement in 2011, Ed worked for the Metro North Railroad for 39 years. He was past secretary-treasurer for TWU Local 2055.

His funeral procession left the Porto Funeral Home, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80), East Haven, June 21. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Anthony’s Church.
