Northford and Guilford

Katherine (Kay) Duffy Kroll died peacefully on June 11 at the age of 92. Kay is survived by Frederick Kroll, her loving husband of 68 years. Kay was predeceased by her beloved son Frederick J. Kroll. She is also survived by her brother Edward Duffy, Las Vegas, Nevada; nieces Marybeth Duffy, Boston, Massachusetts, and HelenMarie Robbins-Ellis Las Vegas, Nevada; and close family friends Mary Murphy, Shelton, and Beth Mishler, Branford.

Kay grew up in Hamden and later moved to Northford with her husband, where they lived for many years. The past 20+ years they resided in Guilford. She worked at the Yale Co-op and SNET. Kay left the workforce to raise her family and she volunteered in many civic organizations over the years.

Kay will be remembered for her beauty, intelligence, sense of humor, and love for helping anyone in need. Kay was a wonderful hostess whose home was often the gathering place for family and friends to enjoy her delicious meals. A daily New York Times subscriber, Kay was an interesting conversationalist on many topics and an avid reader of novels, sometimes two or three at once. Kay enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and had a great mind for numbers.

Her family wishes to thank Connecticut Hospice staff and volunteers for their compassion, tenderness, and care for Kay during her final days.
