Jo Ann Ventura, 62, of East Haven, died unexpectedly at Yale-New Haven Hospital on May 10. She was born on March 24, 1956, to the late Anthony “Spec” and Angela Ann Cangiano Ventura.

Jo Ann was a registered nurse at Talmadge Park Convalescent Home since 2012. While there, she attained the position of nursing supervisor and was also their infection control nurse. She graduated from the University of Bridgeport in 1979, and then went on to receive her master’s degree from the University of the Americas. In her free time, Jo Ann loved to garden, especially flowers, and was a passionate baker.

She is survived by a brother and his wife, Anthony “Skip” and Wendy Ventura of Claremont, New Hampshire, and the love of her life, her nephew David Ventura and his wife Jenna.

The funeral left the East Haven Memorial Longobardi–Brennan Funeral Home, 425 Main St., East Haven, 203-467-1708, May 14 for a funeral mass at St. Vincent de Paul Church.
