Branford

Eugene T. Madeska of Branford died June 11 at Yale-New Haven Hospital after a long illness. He was the beloved husband for 60 years to Beverly Jefferson Madeska. Eugene “Gene” was born in New Haven May 12, 1936, son of the late Joseph and Sophie Madeska.

He served in the Connecticut National Guard for many years. Gene was a truck driver with Teamsters Local #443, driving for ABF Trucking and Navajo Trucking. He was a member and past president of the Teamsters Local #443 Retiree Chapter.

Besides his wife, Gene is lovingly survived by his daughters Tamre (Edward) Mockus of Branford and Tracey (John) Gajewski of Trumbull; and his beloved grandchildren Taryn, Edward “Ted,” and Teagan Mockus, and Adam Gajewski. He is also survived by Doreen Reede and Lawrence Kaplan.

Relatives and friends were invited to a Mass of Christian burial June 18 in St. Mary Church, Branford. There were no calling hours and burial was private.
