Donald F. Allen, Jr., 66, of North Haven passed away on April 17 at the Smilow Hospital with his family at his side after a brief illness. Don was born in New Haven on June 1, 1951, the son of Rev. Donald F. Allen, Sr., and the late Augusta Hock Allen.

He attended Southampton College, graduating with degrees in psychology and philosophy. He later received his MBA from the University of New Haven. Don was a lifelong member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in North Haven, serving on the vestry as junior and senior warden and on the Buildings and Grounds Committee. He was the president of the Board of Directors for Stevens Woods. He was a thirty-year Masonic member of the Corinthian Lodge 103, becoming Worshipful Master in 1994. After 40 years employment at the Schick Safety Razor in Milford, he retired and volunteered at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford and at the Trolley Museum in East Haven.

Don is survived by his father; his loving wife of 46 years, Karen Allen; his sister Claudia (John Muehlfeld); daughter Stacy Allen (David Wray); his son Donald W. Allen (Katarina); and his daughter Kristen McNulty (Sean McNulty). Don leaves behind seven grandchildren, Alyssa, Linnea, Emily, Mattias, Connor, Ashley, and Elin.

The visiting hours for friends and family will be held at the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., on April 22 from 2 to 5 p.m., which will include a Masonic Service at 4:00 p.m. Friends and family are also invited to go directly to St. John’s Episcopal Church, North Haven, on April 23 at 11:00 a.m. to attend a funeral service and attend the committal service immediately following in Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven.
