North Haven

Anita Kelsey Clement, 88, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on April 2 at the Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Clement. Anita was born in St. Johnsbury, Vermont, on Sept. 23, 1929, the daughter of the late Ralph and Lillian Nichols Kelsey.

She graduated from St. Johnsbury Academy in 1947. Anita and her late husband were very active in organizations such as the local ARC chapter, which advocated and provided services for those with special needs. Anita was a long-term supporter of the Special Olympics, which her daughter Jeanne participated in for many years. Sh was a devoted homemaker.

She was the dearly loved mother of Carol Delfino, Nancy (Carlos) Ceballos, and Jeanne Clement. She was the cherished grandmother of Christopher and Jillian Ceballos. She was the sister of Dean (Darlene) Kelsey and the late Lawrence Kelsey, Doris Legendre, Candace Ekborg, Leah Davis, and Dwight Kelsey. She is also survived by sister-in-law Theresa Kelsey and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 3 Trumbull Place, North Haven, on April 14 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. John’s Memorial Garden. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics Connecticut, 2666 State St., Ste. 1, Hamden, CT 06517.
