East Haven

Louis V. Hemstock, 84 of East Haven passed away peacefully on April 3. He was born in New Haven on May 22, 1933, son of the late Clarence and Anna Hemstock. He was predeceased by three brothers and two sisters and his former wife, Marlene Thomas Sym.

Lou graduated from Wilbur Cross High School and was a truck driver for 35 years and a proud steward of the Teamsters. He was an active parishioner of St. Clare Church and enjoyed spending time with friends at Our Oasis. Lou will best be remembered for his devotion to family and friends, his sense of humor, and as an honorable and loving person.

Lou is survived by three daughters, Dawn Hemstock, Kim Hemstock-Cimino (John),and Tracie Hemstock-Kondor (Rob); six grandchildren, Laura Ciarleglio, Ashley Rose, Alissa Brokelschen, Brian Brokelschen, Jr., Shawn Kondor, and Jodie Kondor; and five great-grandchildren, Olivia, Angelina, Tatiana, Luciano, and Savannah.

His funeral procession left the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven, on April 7 for a Mass of Christian burial in St. Clare Catholic Church, East Haven followed by committal at East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven.
