East Haven

Ronald David Kasynak, 77, of East Haven, passed away peacefully on Feb. 22 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford, with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Bette Scheib Kasynak. Ronald was born in New Haven on Oct. 12, 1940, the son of the late Joseph and Stella Skibinski Kasynak.

He worked as a longshoreman for the New Haven Terminal for many years until his retirement. Ronald was always proud of his Polish heritage, adored the Boston Red Sox and Dallas Cowboys, and enjoyed horse racing, Dunkin Donuts, visiting the East Haven Senior Center, and his lottery tickets.

He was the father of Karin Kasynak Sheldon and David Paul Kasynak; the father-in-law of Julia Farina Kasynak; and the grandfather of Frankie and Gianna Kasynak, and Ryan Sheldon. He was predeceased by his brothers Theodore, Joseph, and Louis Kasynak.

Family and friends are invited to go directly to St. Stanislaus Church, 9 Eld St., New Haven, to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Feb. 24 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. There will be no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
