Westbrook, New Haven, Guilford, and Madison

Mark T. Lynskey, 65, of Westbrook died on Feb. 20 after a valiant battle with lung cancer. He was born in Hartford on Sept. 25, 1952, the son of Betty Lynskey and the late Thomas Lynskey.

Mark is survived by his children Tom (Jess Lanzi) Lynskey, Shauna (Jordan) Fischer, and Jaimie Lynskey and her fiancé John Maiorino; and his two beloved grandsons, Aiden Fischer and Devin Lynskey. He is also survived by his mother Betty Lynskey; his siblings Daryl (Len) Carpentier, Pat (Linda) Lynskey, and Doreen (Ed) Staskelunas; along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mark was a graduate of Westbrook High School, and the University of New Haven, where he graduated with a B.S. in chemistry in 1975. He worked as a biochemist in research for several labs and companies over the course of his career. He also enjoyed a second career as a real estate agent along the Connecticut shoreline.

He was a beloved coach in Little League and American Legion baseball in Guilford and Madison for many years. He loved the game of golf, the New York Yankees, and the New York Giants. Mark was active in his community, serving on the Westbrook Democratic Town Committee, Westbrook Economic Development Committee, the Westbrook Town Charter Committee, the Exchange Club of Old Saybrook, and the Clinton Chamber of Commerce. Mark was a member of the National Association of Realtors, and was a part of the New Haven Board of Realtors. He was also a communicant of St. Mark the Evangelist Church in Westbrook.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Feb. 24 at 10 a.m. at St. Mark the Evangelist Church, 222 McVeagh Rd., Westbrook. Burial will follow immediately at Resurrection Cemetery in Westbrook. Friends may call at the Robinson, Wright and Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St., Centerbrook, on Feb. 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mark’s name to the Clinton Rotary Cancer Relief Fund, P.O.
