East Haven

Frank R. Kapinos, 81, of East Haven, beloved husband of Lois Grey Kapinos, passed away on Feb. 12 in Yale-New Haven Hospital. Frank was born in New Haven on Nov. 9, 1936, son of the late Frank J. and Antoinette Copela Kapinos.

Prior to his retirement Frank was a tool & die maker for Chesebrough Ponds and United Nuclear. Frank served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed spending time with the entire family, especially his grandchildren. Frank also liked to do road trips to the casino and was very proud of his military service.

He was the loving father of Frank (Anita Morrone) Kapinos of Branford, Michael (Susan) Kapinos of East Haven, Carol (Vincent) Szigeti of North Branford, and John (Christine) Kapinos and Kenneth Kapinos all of East Haven. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was the brother of Mary Ann (Vincent) Borrelli of New Haven.

His funeral procession will leave the Porto Funeral Home, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven, Feb. 16, at 8:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 9:00 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
