Killingworth

William E. Patten, age 92, of Killingworth passed away peacefully on Feb. 7. He was born in North Haven on April 10, 1925, to the late Chesley and Gladys Patten.

He leaves his wife of 70 years, Margery Boyce Patten. He is survived by six children, Bonnie Pudem (Roger Pudem), Ted Patten (Phil Kehres), Skip Patten (Dan Warner), Scott Patten, Paul Patten (Robin Patten), and Rob Patten. He also leaves eight grandchildren, Julie Pudem Scanlon (Skip), Carl Pudem, Sandy McGinnis (Nate), Kelly Patten, Cassidy Patten, Kyle Patten, Liam Patten, and Dustin Patten; and four great-grandchildren, Robert and Ryan Scanlon and Layla and Ryan McGinnis.

Bill served in the US Army as an MP during World War II. He was a rural mail carrier in North Branford as well as serving as a constable and a member of the North Branford Volunteer Fire Department for many years.
