Charles F. Bernhard “Chuck” of Guilford entered into eternal rest with His Savior Jesus Christ, during a brief hospitalization for an acute medical condition on Jan. 3. He was born Feb. 17, 1943.

He was the beloved husband and journey mate to his wife Karen (Syvertsen) Bernhard of Guilford; and the beloved father to Kristin Cafferty (Matt) and Heather Moore (Adam) of Clinton, and Jessica and Jordana Bernhard of Guilford. He was the beloved grandfather to Sean and Megan Cafferty, and Dillon and Brenna Moore. He was the beloved brother to Robert F. Bernhard, Jr., Tully Lake, New York, J. Christopher Bernhard, Glastonbury, and David Bernhard (Diane Byers) of Silverthorne, Colorado; and their children, nephews Scott Bernhard (Lauren) of Springfield, Virginia, and Todd Bernhard of Lafayette, Colorado. He was predeceased by his parents Robert F. Bernhard and Barbara Sweet DeLong of Summit, New Jersey, and Barnstable, Massachusetts.

Visitation and a service will be held on Jan. 20 at Christ Chapel, 1185 Durham Rd. (Rte. 79), Madison. Visitation will be held between the hours of 1 and 2 p.m. A service to celebrate his life will begin at 2 p.m. with light refreshments following.
