Guilford

Marjorie Grady, 92, of Guilford passed away peacefully at Twin Maples Nursing Center, Durham, Nov. 17. She was the wife of the late Robert Grady. Mrs. Grady was born Oct. 31, 1925, in Abram, Lancanshire, England, daughter of the late Arthur and Blanche Bowen Lloyd.

During World War II Marjorie served in the British Women’s Land Army and was stationed in Wales. She immigrated to North America in 1970 and became a US citizen in 2000.

She was the mother of Jean M. Duva Capezzone and her husband Mike of Guilford; and Neil L. Grady of Northern Ireland. She was the sister of Mildred Notch of Minnesota. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews in Minnesota, Canada, England, France, and Scotland. She was predeceased by four sisters, Mable Ashton, Marie Finch-Ashcroft, Mary Baker, and Margaret Campbell.

Friends are invited to a memorial service on Nov. 24 at 9 a.m. at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Connecticut Food Bank, 2 Research Pkwy., Wallingford, CT 06492.
