Branford

Charles F. Ahearn of Branford died Nov. 16 at Connecticut Hospice in Branford. He was the husband of the late Charlotte Wildman Ahearn. Charles was born Jan. 23, 1923, in New Haven, son of the late Charles F. and Mary McCarthy Ahearn.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Charles worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Post Office in Branford for thirty years prior to retiring.

He is survived by his sons John Ahearn of Branford and James (Diane) Ahearn of East Hampton; his grandchildren Daniel Ahearn (fiancée Jennifer Carlucci), Kelly Ahearn, and Kevin Ahearn; and great-grandchildren Kaitlyn and Logan. He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Laura, Betty, and Lucille Wildman, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law Doris (Andrew) Charney, and three brothers-in-law, Carl, George, and Charles Wildman.

The funeral left from the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 N. Main St., Branford, Nov. 20 for a Mass of Christian burial in St. Mary Church. Burial followed in St. Agnes Cemetery.
