Old Saybrook and Ivoryton

David Alfred Stadalnik, age 77, of Old Saybrook, formerly of Ivoryton, passed away on Nov. 10. He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Lindner) Stadalnik for 52 years. He was born on June 29, 1940, in New Haven to Alfred F. and Marion (Dzindzaleta) Stadalnik.

David was a native of Branford and will be remembered as a great athlete, as having a tremendous sense of humor, and as being the first member of his family to graduate from college. He played basketball at UConn, where he earned his degree in accounting. He met his wife while working at Armstrong Rubber Company and raised three loving children. David was the director of accounting operations at Pirelli Tire Company before retiring at the age of 49. He drove his family crazy with all his free time, so he went back to work for a few years as the treasurer of Briarwood College. He will lovingly be remembered as a devoted father who spent countless hours playing sports with his children.

Besides his beloved wife Nancy, he leaves his son Brian (Deborah) of Ivoryton; his two daughters, Susan Quatrano (RJ) of Deep River, and Cindy Munawar (Imran), also of Deep River; and his grandson Zack. David was predeceased by his brother Harold.

A memorial service was held on Nov. 21 at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St., in Centerbrook. Memorial contributions in David’s name may be made to the Valley Shore Animal Welfare League, 647 Horse Hill Rd., Westbrook, CT 06498.
