East Haven

Rose Pane, 81, of East Haven passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Oct. 19. She was the beloved wife of Guy “Sonny” Pane for the past 60 years. Rose was born in New Haven on April 15, 1936, to the late Thomas A. and Filomena “Fanny” Carbone Gambardella.

She attended Wilbur Cross High School and was a member of their majorette squad. Early in her career, she worked for Perri Sausage in their packaging department. In 1970 she went to work for The Sargent Company of New Haven as an assembler until finally retiring in 1997. Rose was simply the life of any party, with her smile, infectious personality, and sense of humor. She was completely devoted to her family and especially loved cooking for them for any occasion. She attended many of the sporting events that her children or grandchildren participated in. Rose was a warrior, overcoming so many health issues throughout her life. During that time, she came in contact with so many loving, caring, and compassionate caregivers. Her family would like to acknowledge the efforts of these great people

Besides her husband, she is survived by three loving children, son Louis Pane of East Haven and daughters Maria (Takis) Pane Demetriades of Branford and Debbie (Ed) Golembieski of East Haven; and a brother, Thomas Gambardella of East Haven. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Michael Demetriades, Stephen and Randy Golembieski, Gabriele, Louis, Jr., and Jenna Pane; and three great-grandchildren, Ava Rose, Jackson Mario, and Skye. She was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Amarante.

Her funeral left the East Haven Memorial Longobardi-Brennan Funeral Home, 425 Main St., East Haven, 203-467-1708, Oct. 23 for a Funeral Mass at St. Pio of Pietrelcina Church (formerly St. Vincent de Paul Church).
