North Haven

Anthony Purchio, 95, of North Haven passed away peacefully on Nov. 8 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford, with his family by his side.

He was a WWII US Army veteran. He worked at Saint Mary Church, New Haven, and was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 478.

He is survived by his wife, four children, three grandchildren, and a sister.

A “Special Thank You” to Partnership Adult Day Care Center and Valerie, who treated Dad like he was family with love and dignity; and to Fanta for the personal care she gave dad with patience, love, kindness, and respect. Without their help, keeping dad at home would not have been possible. Dad was truly blessed to have had them. Our family will always be thankful for their loving care and support.

Family and friends were invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Nov. 14 in Saint Rita’s Church, Hamden. Interment will be at a later date in the State Veterans Cemetery, Florida. There will be no visiting hours. The North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., has been entrusted with the arrangements. For an online obituary, visit www.northhavenfuneral.com.
