Madison

Frank E. Kiernan, Jr., of Madison passed away on Nov. 8 at the age of 78. He was the beloved husband for 56 years to his wife Nancy Kiernan, a father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Born in Oceanside, New York, on June 10, 1939, he was the son of the late Madeline and Frank Kiernan, Sr.

He graduated from Freeport High School in Long Island, New York, in 1957, and later graduated from Syracuse University, where he became an All-American lacrosse player. Following college, Frank served his country in the Air Force Reserve. Throughout his successful career in sales, he was employed for many years by the General Electric Co., and later by Grainger Inc. Most of all, he was a true outdoorsman, who loved golfing, hunting, fishing, and boating, and loved his family and lived life to the fullest.

He is survived by his children Susan Decerbo and her husband Chris, and his granddaughter Kelly of Old Saybrook, Frank Kiernan III of Orlando, Florida, and Dennis Kiernan of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; and also his beloved dog L.C. He is also survived by his sister Joan Frey of Cocoa Beach, Florida; and his brother Dennis Kiernan of Saratoga Springs, New York.

The family expresses deepest gratitude to the loving care of Hospice.

Friends were invited to calling hours Nov. 14 at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford. Services and Burial will be held privately by the family.
