East Haven

Armand DeAngelo, 96, of East Haven died on Oct. 28 at Connecticut Hospice. He was born in New Haven to the late Frank and Julia Baldino DeAngelo on Oct. 27, 1921.

Armand was a roofer, working for his father before going into music. Even though he owned DeAngelo Fuel for a few short years, music was his life. He played a variety of instruments, although guitar was his favorite. His career would include many bands, events, and family functions. He entertained right up until his death.

He is survived by his brother Arthur "Tully" DeAngelo of East Haven, Frank "Chubby" DeAngelo, Jr., of Ansonia, and a sister, Raffie Swiderski, of New Haven. He also leaves many nieces and nephews, especially Gloria DePalma who cared for him during the last few years of his life. He was predeceased by three brothers, Salvatore "Jake," Albert, and Harry DeAngelo, and two sisters, Christina Raccio and Anna Pandolfi.

The funeral procession left the East Haven Memorial Longobardi-Brennan Funeral Home, 425 Main St., East Haven, 203-467-1708, Nov. 2 for a funeral Mass at St. Pio of Pietrelcina (formerly St. Vincent de Paul Church). Burial was in All Saints Cemetery. Friends called prior to the Mass at the funeral home.
