Branford

Kathleen Gargano of Branford died Nov. 7 at her home. She was the beloved wife of Thomas R. Gargano. Kathleen was born May 2, 1952, in West Haven, daughter of the late James R. and Jean Fitz Thompson.

She was a registered nurse, and worked for Yale-New Haven Hospital until her retirement this year. Kathleen was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Army Reserves, serving as a nurse in Operation Desert Storm. She was a member of the Branford Evangelical Free Church, where she served on many boards and led many studies.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her children Michael and Carly Gargano of Branford. She is also survived by her siblings Michael Thompson of Colorado, John Thompson of Branford, Ann Nash of Milford, Daniel Thompson and Theresa Thompson, both of Madison, Mary Kiska of Torrance, California, Gloria Lasley of Chicago, and Eileen Lorentz of Minnesota; and 26 nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends were invited to a visitation Nov. 14 at the W.S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 N. Main St., Branford, and may attend a memorial service Nov. 15 at 11:00 a.m. in the Branford Evangelical Free Church. Burial will be private.
