North Haven

Anna Madzak Heeran, 93, of North Haven, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 4 at the Connecticut Hospice, Branford. She was the beloved wife of 63 years to John A. Heeran. Anna was born in New Haven on Sept. 7, 1924, and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Eva Swistak Madzak.

She worked as a lead assembler for the former Chloride Corporation of North Haven. Anna enjoyed gardening and cooking for her family, whom she loved unconditionally.

She was the mother of Thomas M. Heeran, Carole Heeran, Catherine (Thomas) Andersen, and the late Susan Camile Heeran and Nancy Elizabeth Heeran. She was the grandmother of Eric Andersen and Mark (Michelle) Andersen; the great-grandmother of Isabella and Sophia Andersen; and the sister of Phyllis Dynia, Helen Madzak, Beatrice Oberle, and the late Stanley and Joseph Madzak. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Michael Shaw.

Her funeral procession left the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Nov. 7 at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends called from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Therese Church at 11:30 a.m. Interment followed in All Saints Cemetery.
