Jeanette Jackson Dodd, age 83, a longtime resident of Chester, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Nov. 3. Jeanette was the beloved wife of Charles Dodd, Jr., for 64 years. She was born in Allagash, Maine, on May 17, 1934, the daughter of Aaron Jackson, Sr., and Melissa (Thibodeau) Jackson.

Jeanette was a member of The United Church of Chester. She loved fishing, knitting, crocheting, playing her guitar, and cats. She will be especially remembered as being a loving and devoted wife to Charles and always a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Besides her husband Charles, she leaves her daughter Pamela; her grandchildren Chad, Nicole, and Alan; and her great-grandchildren Georgia, Cole, Drake, Justin, Joshua, and Jackson. Jeanette also leaves her sisters Annie and Verna and her brother Maynard. Jeanette was predeceased by her sons Douglas and Steward; her daughter Rhonda; her sisters Lizzie, Leanna, and Irene; and brothers Louis, Romeo, Roland, Percy, Vincent, Fred, and Aaron, Jr.

Visitation will be held on Nov. 11 at the Robinson, Wright & Weymer Funeral Home, 34 Main St. in Centerbrook from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow the visitation in the funeral home chapel.
