East Haven

John E. Tuttle, 85, beloved husband of Josephine Vastarelli Tuttle of East Haven, passed away Oct. 28 in Connecticut Hospice. He was the son of the late Arthur and Katherine Crowe Tuttle.

John worked for the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad, Tilcon Tomasso, and Christ Chapel in Madison for many years. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was the loving father of Susan (Gary) Nadeau of North Branford, Jody (Gene) Pfeiffer of Northford, John E. (Tara) Tuttle, Jr., of Madison, and the late Eileen (Ken) Boylan. He was the brother of Elizabeth Ann Perrone of Branford; Janet Martone and Edward Tuttle, both of East Haven; Elaine Sorensen of Hamden; Arthur Tuttle of North Haven; William Tuttle of Orange; and the late Harry and Robert Tuttle. He is also survived by 13 cherished grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Porto Funeral Home, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven, Nov. 2 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and are asked to go directly to Christ Chapel, 1185 Durham Rd., Madison, Nov. 3 for Services at 10:00 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown.
