Antoinette L. “Nettie” Saccavino Williams, 97, of Branford, formerly of Coe Avenue, East Haven, passed away peacefully on Oct. 25 at Branford Hills Health Care Center with her family by her side. She was the beloved wife of the late Salvatore C. Williams. Nettie was born in New Haven on Nov. 23, 1919, the daughter of the late Dominic and Antoinette Faugno Saccavino.

She was a nurse’s aide at the former Grace New Haven Hospital and later worked for the National Folding Box Company. Nettie was an active parishioner at St. Clare’s Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and baking committee; she was also a member of the Annex Y.M.A. Ladies Auxiliary. Nettie enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting, and conversation, but most importantly her family whom she loved unconditionally.

She was the loving mother of Steve (Flo) Williams, Carl (Debbie) Williams, and Cosmo Williams. She was the devoted grandmother to her cherished grandchildren Joshua, Branden, Briana, Dylan, and Marc (Annamarie), and Michael Williams and Britany Duczynski. She was the great-grandmother of Taylor and Abrigail Williams. She was predeceased by her brothers Frank, John, Dominic, and Peter Saccavino, and sisters Rose Purificato, Frances Moniti, Therese Solli, and Mary Vacca. Throughout her long life Nettie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend who will be truly missed.

Her funeral procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Monday morning at 10:15. Family and friends may call from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated in St. Clare Church, East Haven at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in the St. Lawrence Mausoleum.
