Guilford

Charlotte Peluso Mowrey died on Oct. 28. She was born in Queens, New York, and was always proud to be a New Yorker.

She started her secretarial career working for MGM Pictures with an office in Radio City. After her move to Connecticut with her husband Fred, she then spent more than 40 years as a Wallingford elementary school secretary (Yalesville, Rockhill). She loved traveling the world, being social, and volunteering at the Schubert Theatre and Ivoryton Playhouse.

She was predeceased by Fred Mowrey. She leaves her son Russell Mowrey, daughter Ruth-Ann Hockert, and granddaughter Megan Hockert. She will be missed by her nephews and their families.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Nov. 5 from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Guilford Funeral Home, 115 Church St., Guilford. Graveside services will be held privately in In Memoriam Cemetery, Wallingford.
