Higganum and Ivoryton

Travis W. Smith, 28, passed away peacefully in the late hours on Oct. 29. Born on Feb. 23, 1989, to parents Marian Smith of Higganum and Robert Smith of Ivoryton, Travis resided and attended public schools in both towns before graduating from Haddam-Killingworth High School in 2009.

He was married to Leah Miner in 2013 and is the loving father of two beautiful children, Dylan and Izabelle. Travis was employed as a cook in numerous restaurants both along the shoreline and in the Middletown area. Travis was a vibrant personality who enjoyed spending time with his family and loved to push the limits with good-hearted practical jokes. During his school years, he was an excellent athlete and spent many hours on the fields providing enjoyment for his biggest fans, his parents. He was an avid hiker and could often be found walking the trails of Southern Connecticut or teaching his children about camping and the outdoors.

Travis is survived by his children as well as his mother and stepfather Marian Smith and Jeff Feaster; his father and stepmother Robert and Carmela Smith; his siblings Ryan Smith, Jacob Smith, Natalie Smith, and Becca Feaster; his grandparents Evelyn Patrick and William Smith; and much more loving family.
