Clinton

Charles H. Vollhardt of Clinton died on Sept. 19. He was born in Middletown, the son of Phillip and Gloria Vollhardt.

Charles was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a supervisor with R&K Spero McDonalds. Charles was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time aboard his boat Bear Fin III with his good friend Don Kallinich. He also enjoyed hunting and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Nola Whalen (age 2), and Eyas Vollhardt-Tran (age 1).

Charles is survived by his wife Susan; children Lindsey Vollhardt-Tran and her spouse Minh of Hampton, New Hampshire, and Laura Whalen and her husband Trey of Cornish, New Hampshire; and grandchildren Nola and Eyas. He is survived by siblings Donald Watkins, Elizabeth Edwards, Philip Vollhardt, Henry Vollhardt, Joan Vollhardt, Phyllis Vollhardt, Jeanice Ripple, and James Vollhardt. Charles is also survived by his mother-in-law Jane Kallinich; brother-in-law Rob Kallinich; and sisters-in-law Karen Gauvin and Wendy Kallinich; along with many other loving nieces and nephews.

Calling hours were held on Sept. 27 at Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charity (www.rmhc.org). There will be a private graveside burial at a later time.
