Killingworth

William L. Schuyler, 77, of Killingworth, passed away on Oct. 17.

Bill was born on Feb. 14, 1940, in New Haven to the late Joseph McElroy Schuyler and Elsie Hodges Schuyler. After he graduated high school, he served in the Army Reserves from 1959 to 1966. He was a member of Local 777 Plumbers and Pipefitters. He was a welder, pipefitter, and weld inspector for 32 years. Bill had a lifelong love for horses and was a member of the Lower Connecticut River Valley Horsemen’s Club. He also loved sailing and sailed Long Island Sound, Block Island, Port Jefferson, Newport, and many other places for 16 years.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Skolonis) Schuyler; their son Matthew William Schuyler and his wife Becky (Hyatt) Schuyler of Higganum; and his brother Dr. Robert L. Schuyler of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was predeceased by his brother Frederick L. Schuyler of New Haven.

Calling hours were held on Oct. 19 at Swan Funeral Home, 80 E. Main St., Clinton. A funeral service took place in the funeral home and burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery, Killingworth. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Rd., Branford, CT 06405.
