Lawrence “Butch” Novella, 69, of East Haven passed away Oct. 6 at Yale New Haven Hospital. He was born Sept. 19, 1948 in New Haven to Lawrence and Philomena (Sullo) Novella.

Butch is survived by his daughter, Lauren Novella of East Haven; sister Rosalie DePalma of Branford; nephews Christopher DePalma (Erica) of Branford, Michael Novella (Danielle) of North Branford, and Larry Novella of Hamden; and niece Jodi Novella of Florida. He is also survived by great nephew, Christopher DePalma, great-niece Gemma DePalma, and sister-in-law Joan Novella of Hamden. Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael Novella.

Lawrence was a truck driver having worked at APA Transport, New England Motor Freight, and Westchester Motor Lines. Butch was a car enthusiast, he enjoyed going to car shows and collecting antique cars.

Family and friends are invited to meet and attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Oct. 18 in St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, East Haven, followed by committal at St. Lawrence Cemetery in West Haven.
