Gary Allan Smith, 59, of West Haven, formerly raised in Guilford, passed away on Oct. 14 at Connecticut Hospice, Branford. Gary was born on Sept. 22, 1952 in Guilford to Gloria D’Amico Smith and the late Allan F. Smith. Gary is also survived by a loving large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

Gary received his bachelor’s degree from St. Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire and his master’s degree from University of New Haven. He worked at Sikorsky Aircraft for more than 35 years and recently retired as manager of information technology. Gary loved his work and time he had at Sikorsky. He enjoyed golfing in his free time. Like his father, Gary’s main focus in life was family and friends. He was loved by all who knew him.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. George Church, 33 Whitfield Street, Guilford, on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow Mass in Alder Brook Cemetery, Boston Street, Guilford.
